Financial and insurance activities

Includes financial services, including insurance, reinsurance, pension funds and ancillary financial services activities. It also encompasses the activities of holding companies, the activities of trust funds (trusts), investment funds and similar financial entities.

It covers insurance services through the sale of life, annuity and non-life insurance policies and the investment of premium income in order to form a portfolio of financial assets that will be used to settle the claims of policyholders in the future. Includes direct insurance as well as reinsurance.

It covers activities that are involved in the provision of financial services or are closely related to these services but which do not in themselves constitute financial services. The division of this activity is primarily done according to the type of financial transaction, that is, the fund to which the ancillary services are provided.
